The Little Black Dress — for that Special Occasion

It doesn’t need to be black but using couture techniques will create a dress that is created professionally and people will ask, “who’s the designer of your dress?”.  The first session we will meet to discuss the best style for you and your body type , what type of fabric and importance of inter-support materials. The second class we will fit and make pattern adjustments. The final class will focus on the construction of the garment. Some cutting and sewing required outside of class.

Are you in love with a garment in your closet, but it just doesn’t fit quite right?  Do you have a favorite garment that is too long or too wide for you?  We will analyze the fit proportion and options in order to adjust the garment to make it exclusively yours.

 Pattern Adjustments

Make commercial Patterns FIT you.

Can’t find the right fit, even when you make your clothing? Learn how to adjust your patterns by comparing your measurements to a specific patterns’ set of measurements, and make  adjustments only where needed .

 Pants, Jackets or dress

Class time:   Each session is 2 ½ hour sessions

Cost:  $65 per session or $150 for all 3 sessions.

 

Sewing Swimwear

See how easy it is to create your own swimsuit. Beginning with a pattern, we will measure to be sure of the proper fit before cutting begins. Techniques for sewing on Lycra and other stretch fabrics will be addressed. Techniques for sewing elastic will also be included. You can bring your own serger to gain comfort of use as you develop a suit just for you. Fabric, pattern styles, sewing samples will be addressed in the first session. Cutting and sewing will be covered in the second session.
